As you may or may not know, my dad and I have a 1956 Buick Special that we have been building for a couple years now. My dad took over the majority of the work once I started building my BSA, but every so often my cousin Michael spends a few days with us to help out.
Michael is now a senior in high school and is planning on going to Linn State Technical College. Ever since he was a little kid he has always been interested in mechanical things. He must have only been seven years old by the time he was begging my dad to let him mow the grass on our riding lawn tractor. Ten years later and he is still obsessed with mechanical stuff. He has a pretty good landscaping racket in his home town and he is also becoming quite the welder & fabricator.
While my cugino Michael, was here for a couple short days, he and my dad got the drive shaft tunnel fabbed up and installed, along with a good section of the floor, as well as the panel behind the rear seat. It was a perfect job for the two of them to get done while I fiddled around with my BMW R80. It's a shame that Michael lives 80 miles away because we love having him over, never mind that the car would be done already if he stopped by to help out more often! Photo credit goes to Michael, except for the picture of him and my dad, and the picture of my BMW sporting a Mickey Mouse balloon.
